Read Bible notes on Mark 1.14-20
How easy would it be to respond to a life-changing call so quickly? Notice, however, that not everything changes. Jesus offers to take their skills and use them for kingdom building. Have you experienced God using the skills you have in a new way?
What changes might the children have experienced in their lives? How might doing something ‘different’ be challenging, and how might it be exciting for them?
Provide the following play materials for very young children throughout the session: toy boats and a water tray.

Jesus takes our lives and uses them to their full potential if we will take that first step and follow. Do you remember your first step? How have you seen Jesus using your life for his kingdom?
‘Follow me’ can also be translated ‘come behind me’ – to follow Jesus’ lead and submit to his will. For young people, there may be many influencers they follow, perhaps even without realising it. What is it that makes them want to follow Jesus?
