Come and thank God

Children's harvest song

Sing to 'London's burning'

Come and thank God, come and thank God,
for the harvest, for the harvest.
Praise him, praise him.
Give him glory, give him glory.

  • Once the group has got used to singing the song, why not sing it as a round? It can be sung in up to four parts, and singing in rounds can make a great sound. It's also a lovely way of bringing a group together.
  • Adding some very simple actions, which the children can work out themselves, can be fun – especially if you do then sing in rounds!
  • Why not use this simple tune as a gathering song for each of the sessions? Only the second line needs to be changed. Examples of this include:
  • for each other …
    he has found us …
    for his justice …
    learn to trust him …
    he has called us …
