November/December issue highlights from Pam
We hope you're continuing to enjoy the refreshed magazine and online resources. As ever, the weekly themes we’ve chosen highlight the timelessness of the Bible passages – topics such as being authentic role models and whether our actions reveal who we are, are sure to capture your group’s attention, as we move from ordinary time into Advent.
Our article by Joanna Gordon, leader of 1277 Make them Count and Director of Daniel’s Den, offers lots of encouragement and advice for setting up a church toddler group. Do take a look at our weekly session outlines for Under 5s for inspiration if you are involved in this ministry - each outline is written by a practitioner to fit with the week’s theme so has plenty of fresh ideas to resource you.
I hope it’s not too early to mention Christmas! This issue has plenty of seasonal delights to whet your appetite: Nativity Essentials is a craft-based session designed to help children explore the role and importance of the key characters in the gospel stories. Get your lollipop sticks ready!
And Pass the Task Parcel Party offers a fun and memorable way to explore what Christmas is all about with young people. Our latest Discovering God explores the subject of angels. More seasonal resources, including Remembrance services, can be found in our archive.
And finally, by the time you read this, our Adult and All Age editor, Martin Adams will be in his last few weeks at Roots, before enjoying his well-earned retirement. Thank you, Martin, for being such a fantastic colleague. May God bless you and Steff in this next chapter.
