Using today's psalm
Psalm 148
At the end of the Book of Psalms there are five psalms that call all God’s creation to give praise for what he has done, highlighted by ‘Alleluia!’ at the beginning and the end. This invitation comes in simple, direct language: a list of created things – heavenly host, the world, the skies, the weather, plants, animals, birds and humans – to add our praise to the splendour of God’s name, which extends beyond everything we know. Easter is a whole season of praise: even though we are now in the fifth week, we are not to flag!
