Christine Cattanach, former intergenerational Missioner in the Diocese of Hereford, introduces an apple-themed way to celebrate Harvest outdoors.
While an orchard is an ideal setting, you could use any outdoor space, e.g. a garden. You could also use this material in an indoor space, using a few potted apple trees as visual aids.
You can use this flexible resource for Harvest festivals in church and/or schools, for apple-themed school assemblies, or around Apple Day on 21 October.
The 9-page PDF includes:
- A flexible service outline
- Handouts to accompany some of the activities - an apple quiz (plus answers!), a template for people to make cards, and apple prayers
- A risk assessment template.
Available free for Roots Adult & All Age subscribers, or you can buy a downloadable PDF for £3
